Phury is the Brother that always puts everyone else first. His twin, his race, his king. To save another, and avoid his feelings, he even takes on the awesome responsibility of becoming the Primale, in charge of keeping the warrior and The Chosen bloodlines alive. But Pury has spent far too much time focused on others while his own problems have gotten out of hand. Now he has to deal with his addiction. One thing he never counted on was a beautiful Chosen named Cormia…

I just re-read this book and I'm glad I did. I didn't care for Phury the first time. I thought he was selfish and wallowing in self pitty.
After reading the book again I know see how completely tortured he was. With no love in his childhood, and Zsadist as his only focus, he lost himself. He was so busy saving everyone else that he just disolved, he had no self. The celibacy was a punishment that he inflicted, not a choice he made.
Cormia helped him realize his own worth, something he'd never had. With the Chosen he has a purpose that his all his.

Alright I just started this book, only a few chapters in, i gotta quote here....ok john matthew has just woken up and he's got a ragin' B that takes at least 3 times to satisfy...."denying his cock wasn't an option...he'd backed off a couple of months ago, within 12 hrs he'd been ready to F*ck a tree, he was so horny...Was there any such thing as anti-viagra?cialis Reversailis?Limpicillin?"...LMAO I'll take care of your ragin' B John Matthew...no need for drugs come use me.LOL *blushes*

Y'know? I did jack squat today and read all of V and all of Phury today. Man, my head is killing me! I know several people had said that LE was their least favorite. I disagree. I was deeply into Phury's story. It did not strike me that he was selfish. I saw him tortured and guilty right from the beginning. I wouldn't say selfish, but it sure seemed like he did really need to prove he was worthy somehow but it never seemed to work out. Until he finally went up against the establishment to denounce the rigid traditions that were threatening the vampires with extinction. I think the Scribe Virgin is getting it. Wrath definitely gets it. Now if only the aristocracy would get it. There is a huge threat out there and they all need to get over themselves and realize their strength has to be in numbers. Thank God Phury and Cormia will be spearheading that revolution!

I agree. Once I read it a second time I saw more of his inner torture. This guy was just carying so much guilt, it was killing him, literally. I do think that The Chosen gave him a new purpose that didn't inloved Zsadist, and that's a good thing.
I like Phury more the second time around. I gave him more time. I still think you respond to Phury based on the way you see the males. For me Phury is one of the "needs to be saved guys" and I'm not a saver. IMHO

I'm with you on that Cougar..That's how I see him too. Phury is good, but I need my males a bit harder!  He's a good guy....and good guys or good.......but give me a bad boy anyday! .....which explains my obsession for "MY" Rehv!!!!!!

Ok, I just finished Phury's story. Everyone told me it was the worst book in the series so I went into it thinking that. I have to disagree. I actually enjoyed most of it. The worst part for me was what the wizard turned out to be. I was not surprised when he tried H. He was self loathing so I saw that one coming. I truly felt for Phury. Growing up the way he did. His parents hated him because Z had been abducted, he was the second born so they wouldn't talk to him much, his mother wouldn't even acknowledge him. He grew up unloved and had to prove to himself that he was worthy of everything in life, even existing. He so wanted to be loved, even imaging himself in love with Bella. He wanted what his brother had, to be equal finally. I am very happy he ended up with Cormia. I like her. She is strong and that's what he needs in his life is someone strong who will be there for him and help him through his addiction.
I have to admit I liked the way this one ended. Z singing coming out of the forest, the brotherhood behind him, proud of him for his accomplishments with the Chosen, breaking the old ways and starting new ones. Welcoming him back to the mansion to visit Nalla and have a mating ceremony. And, yes, I shed a tear or two at the end. I am such a sucker for a happy ending. Phury deserved one, imo.

Z singing to Phury was that thank you that Phury needed. I think it was the only way he could show love to his brother. I choked up on that one.
